Larry Walker has served as San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Recorder since December, 1998, following his election in June, 1998. He was re-elected in 2002, 2006, and again in 2010.
Effective February 25, 2010, the offices of Auditor-Controller/ Recorder and Treasurer/Tax Collector have been consolidated into a single office making Larry Walker the San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/ Recorder/Treasurer/Tax Collector. The combining of offices will allow the County to streamline processes and achieve greater efficiencies, while improving the overall customer experience for the citizens who depend upon our services.
Effective January 3, 2011, Larry Walker will officially "pass the baton" of Recorder-Clerk duties to Dennis Draeger making Larry Walker the San Bernardino County Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector.
Larry Walker was elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in 1986, 1990 and 1994, serving as Chair from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, Mr. Walker served as elected Mayor of Chino from 1980 to 1986, and as a City Council member from 1978 to 1980.
Mr. Walker served as a member and Chair of the Metrolink Board of Directors, and was the Founding Chair of Metrolink's standing Audit Committee. He was a member and President of the boards of both Omnitrans (the local transit agency) and San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG-the County Transportation Commission). He is also the Founding Chair of the California Electronic Recording Transactions Network Authority (CERTNA).
The Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector is a graduate of UC Irvine, and of the UCLA School of Law. He also completed a course of study in accounting at CSU San Bernardino, and passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam. Mr. Walker is both an accountant and an attorney, with professional experience in real estate transactions and litigation. He is a former licensed real estate broker.
Larry, his wife Carri, and their sons Mac, Will, and Ty, live and raise sheep on their ranch in Chino.
