The State Controller's Property Tax Postponement Program allows homeowners who are seniors, are blind, or have a disability to defer current-year property taxes on their principal residence if they meet certain criteria,
including at least 40 percent equity in the home and an annual household income of $53,574 or less (among other requirements). The deferment of property taxes is secured by a lien against the property which must eventually
be repaid. The State Controller's Office (SCO) accepts PTP applications from October 1 to February 10 each year. Go to the SCO website at
sco.ca.gov for more information. If you have any questions or to request an
application, call 1.800.952.5661 or email postponement@sco.ca.gov.postponement@sco.ca.gov if you prefer to have an application mailed to you. You may also call our office at (909) 387-8308.
Pay your property taxes conveniently and securely using our website.
FREE eCheck (electronic check) is a digital version of the paper check. The process mirrors paper checks, but is done electronically. The funds are withdrawn from the taxpayer’s bank account (usually a checking account), transferred over the ACH network, then deposited into the Tax Collector’s office bank account. There is no charge to use an electronic check.
To process your payment using a MasterCard, VISA, American Express, or Discover Card, our third party vendor charges a convenience fee of 2.25% (minimum of $1.95) for credit cards. The convenience fee is not retained by the Tax Collector.
The Treasurer-Tax Collector's automated interactive voice response (IVR) phone system and state-of-the-art website, www.mytaxcollector.com, conveniently direct customers to get their questions answered, pay their tax bill or utilize all other services 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.
